MacOS 13 will be Apple's new Mac operating system.
Two years have passed since the presentation of the Apple Silicon M1 and, on balance, the two years of transition from Intel announced in 2020 are also over.
So, The next version of macOS will almost certainly focus on new features exclusive to Macs with M1,
Let's analyze together everything that has come out so far about Apple's new macOS update.
Let's start with the name.
When will macOS 13 be announced?
MacOS 13 will be officially announced at Worldwide Developers Conference Apple's annual.
This year's WWDC will take place, in online streaming, from 6 to 10 June but The keynote presentation will be on June 6 in which we can take a first look at macOS 13, together with iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16.
As usual, after the event Apple will test the operating system through alpha, beta and public beta versions and then officially release macOS 13 in the fall.
Unlike iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS, Apple usually takes an extra month or two to release new versions of macOS.
In fact, as in recent years, MacOS 13 will definitely be released by October/November.

What will macOS 13 be called?
The current code name is' Rome 'but, according to rumors, MacOS 13 will be called Mammoth.
The reason?
In recent years, Apple has named all Mac operating systems after California parks.
By exception, the last remaining Californian resort is, in fact, MAMMOTH PARK.
But the code name 'Rome' is interesting, whatever a new beginning?

Devices supported by macOS 13
As already mentioned, we are at the end of the two-year transition from Intel to Apple Silicon so we don't know exactly what will happen.
It is likely that The new macOS 13 will support only devices with Apple M1 chips, M1 Pro, M1 Max and M1 Ultra:
- MacBook Air M1 2020
- MacBook Pro 13 M1 2020
- Mac Mini M1 2020 (currently at 699€ it's a deal!)
- MacBook Pro 14” and 16” 2021
- Mac Studio 2022
New macOS 13 features
We currently don't know anything about the new features of macOS 13 but, almost certainly, Apple will focus - finally - on Apple Silicon, optimizing the integration between hardware and software.
Some of the new features could be:
- renewed notification system
- widget on the home screen
- Universal Control improvements
For the rest, unfortunately, we don't know anything yet but lately a patenting just presented by Apple that sees a magnetic keyboard that, connected to iPads, transforms the iPadOS interface into something very similar to macOS.

Conclusions
In short, a lot of meat on the fire this year.
We know for sure that we are at the end of the transition period, from Intel to Apple Silicon, announced by Apple in the revolutionary keynote of 2020 in which they presented, for the first time ever, the M1 chips.
Apple Silicon was a fantastic revelation that changed the working life of each of us and, I'm sure, Apple showed us only the tip of the iceberg.
